Bilingual (Spanish) Therapist

The Bilingual (Spanish) Therapist will provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence through weekly individual psychotherapy sessions, crisis intervention, and facilitation of a supportive psychotherapy group for survivors. When working with clients, we utilize a trauma-informed lens that focuses on empowerment and a strengths-based perspective. The position entails providing direct service to clients 70% of the time, with the remainder dedicated to personal development, inter-agency meetings, documentation, and supervision. The therapist position includes clinical supervision, active engagement with a highly collaborative clinical team, and professional growth.  


This is a full-time, 32 hours per week position with full benefits. The hourly rate ranges from $39.00 - $41.50 DOE (approximately $64,896.00-$69,056 annually) and follows a flexible Monday to Friday schedule. Applicants from historically excluded communities are encouraged to apply.  


Reports To: Clinical Director 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide individual psychotherapy for an 18-client caseload.

- Facilitate 1 group from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. once per week. 

- Provide crisis intervention to clients and callers as needed. 

- Engage in professional training and follow the code of ethics of the licensing board. 

- Represent the Rape Recovery Center with a professional image and manner.  

- Assist in supporting clients regarding sexual violence related to immigration, documentation, and access to services in and outside of the agency as needed and client consultation and conceptualization as needed. 

- Implement surveys and assessment tools to clients for individual and RRC service evaluation.

- Complete accurate records including assessments, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, and clinical notes within 24 hours of a therapy appointment. 

- Participate and engage in scheduled clinical, staff meetings, and training seminars as directed.

REQUIREMENTS

- Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking therapist

- CSW, LCSW, CMHC, ACMHC or other related mental health licensure

- Masters or Doctorate degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology. 

- Demonstrated knowledge of Utah statutes concerning mental health and crisis services.  

- Innovative, collaborative, and self-directed

- Outstanding communication skills, including writing, de-escalation, crisis intervention, and listening

- Ability to work well with—and inspire confidence in—volunteers and clients

- Excellence in balancing multiple responsibilities 

- Organized and detail-oriented 

- Understanding of micro, mezzo and macro systems and their impact on survivors

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Licensed Clinical Social Worker or other terminal Clinical Licensure, licensure eligible

- 2-5 years of clinical experience

- Telehealth experience

- EMDR Level 1 and 2 training complete

- IFS Informed training complete 

- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of the treatment of complex trauma. 

- Experience with case management, crisis advocacy, and working with vulnerable populations (LGBTQI+, Homeless, Pacific Islanders, American Indian/Native American, undocumented immigrants)

Conditions of Employment Offer

- The employee must complete all new hire paperwork one business day prior to the start date.

- The employee must complete a criminal background check.

- Instructions on obtaining the background check will be provided by the operations team.

- Part of this process requires uploading a state-issued ID and scheduling an appointment with the Department of Public Safety for physical fingerprints to be processed.

- Please note a 2-3 week turnaround time as fingerprint appointments (subject to COVID safety protocols as determined by DPS) are not immediately available. 

- Employees/Staff Members of the RRC cannot be alone with clients until the background check is received and reviewed for risk. 

- The employee must obtain a 40-hour crisis counselor certification and submit within 120 days.

- The employee agrees to a probationary period of 90-days from the first day of working in their new position. After 90-days, the employee will receive a detailed evaluation of their progress. 

- Employees must comply with the flu and covid19 vaccination policy.
