Bilingual Support Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for coordination of emergency financial assistance to eligible participants. The Bilingual Support Specialist completes screenings of individuals requesting assistance to determine eligibility and works with the finance department to ensure the appropriate payments are made. They also provide case management to assist individuals with finding alternative resources in the community if they do not meet eligibility criteria. The Bilingual Support Specialist also assists with screening counseling clients for Medicaid eligibility and eligibility for other grant-based programs. They work closely with the Director of Professional Services and/or Clinical Supervisor regarding screening process and scheduling intake appointments.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fields phone calls and emails from individuals requesting assistance and determines eligibility based on various criteria and in line with agency policies and procedures
- Obtains all required documentation to provide financial assistance to eligible applicants
- Maintains records of all applicants and recipients of financial assistance
- Works in collaboration with the finance department to ensure timely provision of financial assistance
- Maintains database of assistance provided on an ongoing basis and provides regular updates, as requested
- Provides referrals for basic needs and social services within the agency and in the community
- Assists agency leadership in ongoing process improvement to ensure program is operating efficiently
- Assists with development and implementation of new online system for applications through providing feedback to leadership
- Fields initial calls from potential clients seeking counseling services and completes screening for eligibility via phone by checking in the Medicaid portal and asking screening questions
- Communicates with clinical team regarding program eligibility and scheduling
WORK HOURS, SCHEDULE & FLEXIBILITY
This position primarily works traditional office hours to meet the needs of the agency. Some evening or weekend hours may be required to support the agency.
