Red Butte Garden & Arboretum (RBGA) is one of the largest botanical gardens in the Intermountain West and together with the University of Utah, is the State Arboretum of Utah. We are located on 100 acres in the foothills on the eastern edge of the University of Utah campus. The Garden has welcomed guests since 1985 and consists of over 21 acres of developed gardens and five miles of hiking trails winding through an extensive Natural Area. The Garden, which is community-funded; is renowned for its numerous plant collections, display gardens, 580,000 springtime blooming bulbs; including a vast collection of daffodils; gorgeous private event spaces, a world-class outdoor concert series, and award-winning horticulture-based educational programs.

Red Butte Garden is looking for an energetic person to join our custodial team! The ideal candidate will perform various cleaning tasks to provide all staff and guests a safe and clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation and freedom from hazards and infections.

Responsibilities:

1. Sweeps, cleans, mops, scrubs and dusts floors.
2. Cleans toilets, basins, showers, bathtubs, and scrubs walls; dusts, cleans and vacuums furniture, fixtures doors and related furnishings by using appropriate cleaning supplies.
3. Operates and maintains electric floor machines, industrial vacuums, carpet shampooing equipment and upholstery shampooing equipment.
4. Cleans, refinishes and maintains a variety of floor coverings.
5. Labels and removes infectious waste bags and containers.
6. Transports custodial supplies and equipment to and from storage and work areas.
7. Replaces sharp containers, transports trash and refuse, removes empty boxes and organizes closets.


Minimum qualifications:

This is an entry-level position. Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills are required.

Six months of related experience is preferred.


Preferences:

Previous cleaning experience preferred.
Must be available at least one morning during the weekend.
