Refugee Foster Care Lead Case Manager
Position Title: Refugee Foster Care Lead Case Manager
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Reports to: Refugee Foster Care Case Management Supervisor
Hiring Range: $20.00-$26.00/hr DOE

Primary Function of Position
The RFC Lead Case Manager models efficient, sustainable, and boundary focused case management. You will support other case managers as needed, assist in training new case managers, and support the Case Management Supervisor in strategizing and implementation of improved processes and procedures.
Major Position Responsibilities
- Intake/Assessment: Conduct initial assessments to understand individual needs.
- Service Planning: Develop comprehensive service plans tailored to each case.
- Service Coordination: Coordinate essential services, acting as a bridge between resources and clients.
- Home Visits: Regularly visit clients to assess progress and address any challenges.
- Advocacy: Advocate for clients' rights and needs within the system.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress.
- Team Oversight: Ensure the well-being and effectiveness of the case management team.
- Skill-Building: Support case managers in preventing issues through skill development.
- Coverage: Step in for absent or overwhelmed case managers.
- Reporting: Monitor timely and accurate submission of reports.
- Onboarding: Train new case managers and facilitate their integration.
- Collaboration: Work closely with staffing, crisis management, and placement decisions.
- Meetings: Participate in regular staff and case management meetings.
- Federal Reports: Complete required federal reports promptly.
- Availability: Be available for evening, weekend, and emergency on-call duties.
- Youth Assessment: Evaluate youth progress in independent living skills, academics, and cultural adjustment.
- Supervisory Role: Act as a supervisor when the case management supervisor is unavailable.
- Policy Support: Assist in policy development as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment
- This role is in a professional office environment, utilizing standard office equipment, including computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Your work will also take you to youths' homes, places of employment, educational institutes, and other locations as needed.
Physical Demands
- The role involves extended periods of sitting and standing, walking moderate distances, driving, and occasionally assisting youth with physical activities, such as carrying groceries or household supplies.
- Driving is a required part of this position.

- Computer Skills: Proficient in using various software tools, including financial systems, spreadsheets, databases, scheduling applications, Outlook, and Office 365.
- Personal Qualities: Demonstrates openness, respect, compassion, and graciousness in assisting youths facing challenging situations.
- Cultural Humility: Willingness to collaborate with and learn from individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Education, Training, and Experience
- Academic Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in social work or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Mission Alignment: Familiar with and supportive of the mission of Catholic Community Services of Utah and the vision of the Catholic Church articulated by the diocesan bishop.
- Cultural Competence: Experience working with multi-cultural and refugee communities.
- Case Management Expertise: Demonstrated exceptional case management skills for at least two years as a case manager.
- Leadership: Exhibits leadership skills.
Background Screening Requirement
- Must pass national a national BCI/FBI background check.
Licenses, Certifications, and Credentials
- SSW or CSW preferred.
- A current Utah driver's license and provide proof of auto insurance meeting minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident. Additionally, be 21 years of age or older, maintain a clean driving record, and have the capacity to fulfill CCS vehicle safety standards.
Position status and expected schedule
- This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and non-exempt.
- The general schedule will be worked Monday through Friday between 8:30 AM and 8:00 PM.
