A day in the life of the Program Manager:
The Program Manager provides overall leadership, management, and tactical execution for all Girl Scout council-led and outreach programs. With a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making and relationship building, this role is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating programmatic needs, offerings, and community partnerships. The Program Manager works directly with youth in various settings, including schools, community organizations, and Girl Scout-specific events, while leading a team of three program specialists. As a key member of the management team, the Program Manager also contributes to strategic planning, oversees the development and administration of the operating budget, and ensures alignment with council goals.
The Program Manager's Key Accountabilities are in the following areas:
Program Development and Implementation
Outreach and Community Engagement
Team and Volunteer Management
Fund Development and Resource Management
Quality Assurance and Compliance
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in the field of youth program development and delivery, or equivalent experience with 2-3 years of directly related work experience.
- Experience in membership recruitment or sales preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management. Experience with Salesforce and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, high degree of accuracy, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and automobile insurance. Travel to various work and meeting locations is required.
- Mindful of diversity, equity, inclusion, and access in actions and attitude.
- High level of professionalism with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, multitask, meet deadlines, take initiative, maintain confidentiality, work efficiently under pressure, and work independently.
- A commitment and passion for the Girl Scout mission and an ability to effectively promote and communicate the mission and vision of Girl Scouts to internal and external stakeholders.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred, but not required.
