Sexual Assault Case Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE
Under the direct supervision of the VAC Director and the general supervision of the Executive Director, ensure sexual assault victims have access to emergency crisis intervention and support services including advocacy, legal services and shelter.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide crisis intervention advocacy for victims of sexual assault.
Assess client needs and refer clients to therapy as needed.
Maintain accurate records on all clients and enter them into the client database.
Assist victims with Crime Victims Reparation forms and protective orders.
Facilitate weekly support groups for rape and sexual assault victims.
Provide court advocacy when required.
Participate in rotating, on-call 24-hour crisis intervention, respond on-scene if needed.
Provide advocate victim intake folders, clothes for victims, and information and referrals.
Assist Sexual Assault Coordinator with recruiting and training of volunteer advocates; monthly advocate meetings and annual training as well as quarterly and annual reports.
Assist in conducting annual Sexual Assault Awareness Month Activities and participate in community outreach activities throughout the year.
Attend YCC all staff meetings, VAC weekly meetings/trainings, and staffing meetings for victims of sexual assault.
Attend trainings and community events as requested by the VAC Director.
Adhere to all policies and procedures stated in the Employee Handbook and any applicable Policy and Procedure Manuals.

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Industry related field or equivalent amount of experience plus 3-5 years of experience working with individuals & families in crisis, or any combination of education, experience, and training that provides the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must have an understanding of sexual assault and domestic violence issues, knowledge of community resources, and the ability to facilitate support groups.
Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Computer literacy including MS Office products: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
Exceptional time-management, planning, and administrative skills.
Demonstrate a high level of diplomacy, sound judgment, and discretion when dealing with clients and other department staff.
High degree of energy, self-motivation, and flexibility with schedule.
Strong work ethic with a professional, positive attitude.
Demonstrated commitment to achieving the organization's goals and objectives.
Ability to think strategically and interact with all levels of the organization.
Ability to perform multiple tasks effectively with a focus on timeliness and responsiveness.
