Utah Youth Sports Giving Day 2026: Goal Setting and Outreach

Description

A successful giving-day campaign starts with a realistic goal — and a clear plan for reaching it. In this interactive training, participating organizations will assess their current fundraising base, use available data to set an achievable yet ambitious campaign goal, and identify the donors and outreach strategies most likely to drive results. Participants will also explore practical ways to engage board members, staff, volunteers, families, and other champions in expanding their campaign's reach.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

• Evaluate past funding results, donor participation, and organizational capacity to establish an informed baseline
• Develop a thoughtful and motivating campaign goal using fundraising projections and measurable participation targets
• Identify priority audiences and select appropriate outreach strategies for current donors, prospective donors, and organizational networks
• Create clear roles and commitments for team members
• Outline a practical outreach campaign that connects campaign messages, communication channels, timing, and fundraising tools

This training will be recorded and made available to all participating nonprofits on the Utah Youth Sports Giving Day page, as well as in the Resources folder.
