Project Details

Sema Hadithi Heritage and Culture’s first Annual History Journal is a powerful platform dedicated to uncovering, preserving, and sharing the stories of African American heritage in Utah. It delves into significant events, individuals, and communities whose experiences and contributions have shaped Utah’s cultural landscape. The journal is a collaborative project involving historians, researchers, writers, and community members passionate about bringing historical truths to light.

Volunteers for this project will take on roles as researchers, writers, editors, and designers, contributing to high-quality articles, sourcing images, conducting peer reviews, and shaping the journal’s visual narrative. Ideal candidates bring skills in historical research, academic or journalistic writing, graphic design, or editing and are interested in contributing to culturally enriching work that fosters community awareness and pride. Flexible commitment options are available, with roles aligned to the journal’s annual publication schedule, and remote meetings via Zoom and Google Meet. Join us in preserving African American heritage and celebrating the legacy of Utah’s Black communities.
