Unpaid Volunteer Role
A MotherBoard‑elected leadership role supporting the lifeblood of Momivate: our volunteers
Role Overview
The ChairMom of Volunteers is a key leadership position within Momivate, elected by the MotherBoard, to guide, nurture, and organize the volunteers who make our mission possible. She leads with warmth, clarity, and strategic oversight—ensuring every volunteer feels welcomed, trained, supported, and empowered to contribute meaningfully.
This role blends people‑centered leadership with organizational coordination, serving as both a mentor and a manager to multiple layers of volunteer teams.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Governance
Holds a MotherBoard‑elected position with full voting rights
Prepares for and attends weekly Board meetings
Supports and advises the ChairMom on volunteer‑related matters
Performs the duties of the ChairMom or the ChairMom of Operational Dynamics when needed
Volunteer Recruitment & Onboarding
Recruits volunteers using platforms such as JustServe, TapRoot, and similar tools
Conducts initial “pre‑screening” conversations with prospective volunteers
Provides initial orientation and foundational training
Coordinates with the Momivator Coordinator and -Vate Leaders for deeper, role‑specific training
Team Oversight & Development
Leads and mentors a team of -Vate Leaders (Cultivate, Elevate, and others as needed)
Trains and oversees Cultivate and Elevate Leaders to ensure consistent volunteer support
Delegates strategically to empower leaders and prevent bottlenecks
May supervise up to two assistants, each of whom may also have two assistants
Meetings & Coordination
Prepares for and facilitates the monthly CouncilMom Team meetings
Ensures communication flows smoothly between volunteer teams and the MotherBoard
Program Support & Continuity
Helps maintain continuity of operations by stepping into leadership roles when necessary
Ensures volunteer teams are aligned with Momivate’s mission, values, and program needs
Strengthens the volunteer pipeline to support organizational growth
Ideal Candidate
The ideal ChairMom of Volunteers is a nurturing, organized, and visionary leader. She thrives on building relationships, empowering others, and creating systems that help volunteers flourish. She is dependable, collaborative, and comfortable guiding multiple layers of leadership with grace and clarity. Must live in Utah.
Position Details
Voting Rights: Full legal voting rights on the MotherBoard
Assistants: May have up to two assistants (assistants do not hold voting rights)
Reports To: ChairMom of the MotherBoard
Works Closely With: Momivator Coordinator, -Vate Leaders, Secretary, ChairMom of Operational Dynamics
