Nightingale Foundation - Board of Directors Positions Now Open
Nightingale Foundation is seeking passionate, community-minded leaders to serve on our volunteer Board of Directors. The mission of Nightingale Foundation is to provide Nightingale College’s nursing students with resources needed for attending and completing their academic programs. As we expand our impact, we are looking for individuals who bring diverse perspectives, strategic insight, and a commitment to health equity, innovation, and long-term sustainability.
Board members guide the Foundation’s strategic direction, strengthen community and corporate partnerships, ensure financial stewardship, and serve as ambassadors for our mission. This is a rewarding leadership opportunity to shape systemic change, foster educational equity, and contribute to meaningful community transformation.
This is a remote role, as Nightingale Foundation serves a national student population. Board members are required to attend 2 virtual meetings annually, one in person retreat annually (costs covered by Nightingale Foundation), and participate in fundraising, strategic plan implementation, and committee-based work.
The Nightingale Foundation Board of Directors play a critical role in ensuring mission alignment, organizational accountability, and sustainable growth. Board members will:
- Provide governance and strategic oversight, helping shape the Foundation’s goals, policies, and program direction.
- Champion fundraising and resource development by engaging personal and professional networks, cultivating partnerships, and supporting donor relations.
- Promote and advocate for the mission by serving as community ambassadors and strengthening the Foundation’s visibility and credibility.
- Ensure responsible financial and ethical stewardship by reviewing budgets, organizational performance, and compliance.
- Contribute expertise in areas such as nonprofit management, education, youth development, finance, legal, community partnerships, fundraising, marketing, or strategic planning.
Nightingale Foundation is currently seeking new board members across disciplines and is specifically looking for individuals with legal, fundraising, and accounting/finance expertise.
Ideal Candidates Possess:
- A passion for nursing, higher education, health equity, and supporting vulnerable communities.
- Experience in leadership, governance, philanthropy, or relevant professional sectors.
- A collaborative mindset with strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
- Commitment to attending quarterly board meetings, participating in committee work, and supporting mission-driven initiatives.
This is a volunteer leadership role with impactful opportunities to shape the trajectory of the Nightingale Foundation.
