Resident Advocate Coverage
SVS is seeking qualified volunteers to help cover our emergency shelter locations and 24/7 helpline so all of our employees can attend a staff appreciation event together on September 17th, 2026.
Because our services operate around the clock, volunteer support will make it possible for our team members to step away and be recognized for the important work they do. This is a meaningful opportunity for individuals who have experience working with vulnerable populations or who are comfortable supporting people in sensitive situations.
Volunteers will need to have, or be willing to obtain, an active CPR and First Aid Certification and successfully pass a DACS Background Screening. The cost of required certifications and screening will be paid for or reimbursed by SVS. Volunteers will be required to review, agree to, and sign all required documents before serving.
Training will be scheduled to review the role's duties and responsibilities. An on-call staff member will also be available during the event to answer questions and respond to any emergencies. Because background screening and training can take some time to complete, we encourage interested volunteers to sign up as soon as possible.
We are grateful for volunteers who are willing to help us care for our community while we take time to appreciate our dedicated staff!
