Reports to: Out-of-School-Time (OST) Assistant Director

Location: In-Person at Guadalupe School (1385 N 1200 W, Salt Lake City, UT 84116)

Status: Part-Time

Pay Range: Hourly Rate: $16.50


Guadalupe Afterschool Program seeks part-time, in-person Afterschool Group Leaders dedicated to fostering academic and personal growth for Salt Lake’s diverse community of immigrants and refugees through high-quality afterschool programming. This is a part-time, in-person position, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 2:30-5:30 pm and Wednesday 1:15-5:30 pm, and may include occasional extended evening and weekend hours.

Group leaders will help create and maintain a safe and supportive environment where students can complete academic and enrichment activities during afterschool.

  • Group leaders will be expected to establish and maintain classroom expectations while supervising a group of 10- 20 students. (Groups served include Pre-K to 6th grade.)
  • Group leaders will demonstrate classroom and behavior management skills.
  • Group leaders will be expected to work with students to establish student interest-based activities and learning opportunities that fit into the afterschool program schedule.
  • Group leaders will demonstrate both an adherence to program schedule and flexibility when challenges arise.
  • Group leaders are expected to be responsible, reliable, and respectful team players who work well with students and adults alike.

Guadalupe School, one of the state’s leading educational institutions and resource centers for immigrant and refugee families, is a nonprofit organization founded in 1966 whose mission is to transform lives through education. The organization provides wrap-around and educational services for children aged infant through 12-years-old, as well as adults aged 18 and older - 96% of whom live at or below the federal poverty line - through an Early Learning Center (In- home care, toddler, and preschool classes), a K-6 public charter school, Out-of-School-Time programs, and an Adult Education program.
