Afterschool Youth Program Lead

Overview:

Do you love helping children learn, grow and play? Do you like to know you are making a difference in the community. Then our Afterschool Youth Leader might be the perfect position for your. Neighborhood House is a licensed and NAEYC accredited facility providing daycare, preschool and afterschool programing for children 15 through 12 years old. As an Afterschool Youth Leader you will be working directly with our youth, ages 5-12, by planning & implementing enrichment activities that responds to their individual needs & interests, that encourages them to develop friendships, work cooperatively, communicate effectively, & increase their self-image. Afterschool Youth Leaders will offer classroom activities, team building & group activities, community-service projects, & outdoor recreational opportunities. Afterschool Youth Leaders are responsible for proper supervision & interaction with the youth, maintaining effective group management techniques, encouraging participation from all youth, & having fun!!

The successful candidate will be:

· A person who is self-motivated for success & driven toward excellence.

· Very responsible & highly dependable.

· Genuinely cheerful & passionate about making a difference in the lives of elementary age children.


Qualifications:

· Must have/or obtain: Food Handlers Permit, CPR/First Aid Certification.

· Must be 18 years of age & able to successfully pass a background check.

· Valid driver's license with a good driving record.

· Willing to drive a 15-passenger van daily to transport children from school.

· Must be able to effectively communicate with parents, youth, & co-workers.

· Must possess at least three strong leadership qualities.

· Bi-lingual Spanish/English preferred.

· Pass Child Care Licensing Background Check and pre-employment drug test


Schedule:

· This is a part-time position and must have availability during afterschool hours; 1:00-5:30pm.

· This position has the ability to be a seasonal full-time position during the summer months.
