Bilingual Receptionist

We are Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership and we are searching for a supportive and helpful Bilingual Receptionist to ensure all visitors have a welcoming experience with our organization. You take pride in providing consistent, high-quality service, and colleagues and visitors alike consider you disciplined, responsible, and trustworthy. As our Bilingual Receptionist, you will serve as the first point of contact for all visitors and facilitate bilingual interpretation when needed. Due to the consistency of responsibilities in this role, your preference for a steady, even pace of activity will be regularly met. You will conduct reception duties including greeting and directing visitors, relaying incoming messages to staff, and providing clerical support while maintaining confidentiality with all information shared.

A patient, conscientious, relaxed and cooperative team worker

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience working with individuals from a variety of age groups, ethnic backgrounds, and income levels.

Two years’ experience in basic translating and interpreting between English and Spanish preferred

What you’ll do as the Bilingual Receptionist: 


Interpret verbal information provided to staff and the individual’s OWCAP services in an effort to provide quality services; interpret one to one and in large groups in a competent and professional manner.

Bilingual Spanish/English speaking, reading, and writing.  Translation of documents, fliers, communication both verbal and written as assigned.

Conduct reception duties including, but not limited to, opening and/or securing reception area and lobby daily, greeting and directing all visitors and clients in person or on the telephone; receiving and relaying incoming messages to staff, providing clerical support to agency staff; ensuring completion of applications; keeping reception area neat and orderly; secure reception area and lobby in the evening; keeping abreast of agency functions to identify problems that may occur for security and client flow purposes.

Ensuring the building is secured nightly, i.e., checking all external doors, lights, classrooms, and common areas. Also responsible for setting alarm at the end of each shift. 

Maintain confidentiality of all information shared regarding staff and individuals, children and families served; when working with confidential documents, ensure security and only authorized accessibility to those documents.

Assist the Human Resources Department by logging received applications, forwarding documents to the HR Department on a daily basis, and translating documents and policies as needed.

Assist with case management of applications for Community Support.

Processing of incoming and outgoing mail, including receipt of packages and notifying fiscal department.

Maintain current bulletin board, job board listings, message boards, and other listings as required by agency programs.

Assist Secretarial Team and other departments in clerical duties as assigned.
