Bookkeeper/Billing Lead

Admin/Operations Management

Job Title: Bookkeeper/Billing Lead

Division: Administrative Staff (overseen by Office Manager/Director of Operations)

Pay: $25-$35/hour DOE

Hours: 40 hours/week, flexible schedule

Benefits: Medical, dental, & vision insurance; paid time off (accrued)

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Location: Remote (must live in Utah)

Work Environment: home office (including video conference meetings with other staff members); occasional in-person meetings at Flourish’s Orem office

Primary responsibilities and duties:

• Record and reconcile financial transactions using QuickBooks Online.

• Manage payroll processing, including data entry, benefits withholdings, timesheets, and accurate and timely payment of employee wages, contractor fees, and payroll taxes.

• Oversee billing team operations, including claims, collections, follow-up, and compliance with third-party payer regulations.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets. Provide necessary documentation and supporting information for external audits.

• Monitor and categorize expenses, ensuring accurate reconciliation and allocation to appropriate accounts.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

• Collaborate with the director of operations and other staff members. Provide and receive feedback and financial insights in regular meetings with colleagues and the director of operations.


Minimum qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant work experience

• Knowledge of GAAP and double-entry bookkeeping principles

• Understanding of HIPAA compliance standards

• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Payroll

• Able to pass criminal background check

• Lives in the state of Utah


Preferred attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Proficiency in TherapyNotes, SimplePractice, TheraNest, or similar EHR

• Proficiency in Google Sheets and other Google Workspace products

• Lived experience with or in the LGBTQ+ community
