Building Maintenance Technician
Summary:
As our Building Maintenance Technician, you will play an integral role in ensuring our organization’s building and equipment are consistently clean, safe, and properly maintained. As someone who thrives with a steady, even pace of work, you will manage the needs of this role perfectly. You pride yourself on being able to follow established processes and procedures time and time again, and this strength will be heavily relied on as you execute on minor maintenance and operation of all building mechanical systems. We are Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP), and we are searching for a supportive and service-oriented Building Maintenance Technician to complete maintenance and custodial services in accordance with all applicable laws and requirements.
What you’ll need to be our Building Maintenance Technician:

- Will be introspective, matter-of-fact, and analytical
- May take time to connect with others; more reserved and quiet, comfortable with the familiar
- Serious and disciplined, works well within established systems, standards, and procedures
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- Current Utah Drivers License
- Two (2) years paid successful experience in the maintenance/custodial/ground keeping fields

What you’ll do as the Building Maintenance Technician:
Assist in maintenance and operation of building and facilities. Responsible for repairs and upkeep of building systems and equipment, e.g. preventive maintenance, safety concerns, mechanical, electrical, etc. Report defects or problems to supervisor.
Follow OSHA guidelines in the maintenance and usage of all chemicals and equipment used in OWCAP owned, leased and/or used facilities. Keep informed about current OSHA requirements and provide training to staff. Report OSHA compliance concerns to supervisor. Complete bi-annual OSHA inspections as established by supervisor.
Assist in the safety and security of OWCAP property, visitors, and staff. Ensure building is secure when assigned. Inspect classrooms and office spaces for safety concerns and repair as needed. Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
Maintain grounds and clean walkways around building by using snow blowers, mowers, trimmers, etc. Maintain effective operation of sprinkling systems. Must be able to traverse irregular terrain.
Receive and/or relocate a variety of furniture and supplies within agency and deliver to off-sites as needed. Assemble as needed. Set up OWCAP areas for meetings, classrooms, storage areas, special events, etc.
Operate OWCAP owned motor vehicles to make deliveries to off-site facilities, pick up and deliver equipment and supplies from and to partners and vendors.
Work in coordination with supervisor to complete imminent custodial services. Works with custodian team to ensure tasks are accomplished in a timely, efficient manner.
Maintain accurate and adequate inventory of cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, etc., by submitting supply requisitions to supervisor in a timely efficient manner.
Participate in the interview process when requested; provide training to staff and volunteers as assigned or needed.
Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in confined spaces.
Required to lift and carry 60 pounds or more regularly.
Provide supervision and direction to volunteers assigned to help with building and grounds.
