Business Support Manager
Listeners Community Radio of Utah seeks a self-motivated salesperson to cultivate and maintain business support for KRCL. Identify prospects, build relationships, and secure agreements from business sponsors for local programming, station events, and digital assets. Manage current accounts to ensure timely collection and to increase renewal revenue. Develop custom packages and new digital opportunities for support. Track local businesses advertising with other platforms. Build new relationships with nonprofits, arts groups, businesses, and lovers of community radio. Coordinate challenge grant contracts and messaging during pledge drives. Voice support announcements and promotional messages by learning basic audio editing.
Work with other departments including membership, events, and programming as necessary. Attend staff meetings, industry conferences when appropriate, and networking events. Perform other work as needed, including compiling sales reports, activity reports, and working to ensure messages are accurate and that announcements are written, approved, scheduled, and run.
Qualifications
Two years or more of hands-on experience in sales, promotions, or marketing required. We are particularly focused on strong closing skills and a track record of securing contracts.
Communication, organizational, presentation, time management, and computer skills required.
Familiarity with public media and community radio is imperative.
Dedication to KRCL’s mission is essential. We are building a more socially engaged Utah through locally-driven programming that promotes music discovery and civic participation.
Work from the KRCL office. Personal vehicle and valid driver’s license required for client visits.
Compensation
Base salary of $32,000 - $45,000 depending on experience, plus health insurance, PTO, 12 vacation days. In the first year, expected commission earnings should total $20,000-$25,000.
