Camp Counselor

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Camper Supervision

Assist in overseeing and managing 8-20 campers 

Co-supervise and engage with campers throughout the day.

Provide a positive leadership role model for campers

Ensure camp schedule is followed by your camp participants

Co-facilitate morning mindset and evening debrief discussions

Assist with the Fourth Year Camp Leader curriculum in your group

Ensure all campers are using healthy camp practices 

Assist in resolving health hazards at camp

Assist in resolving camper conflicts with camp participants 

Document campers experiences through photos


Camp logistics  

Communicate any health hazards to camp director 

Direct physical and mental medical needs to the medical team 

Attend daily camp debriefs

Assist in camper check-in check-out process

Participate in recreation activities with your campers 

Assist in camp programming tasks delegated by program leads

Create an inclusive environment to foster growth, learning, and safe adventures

Adhere to policies and procedures.



MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Must be 18+  years of age.

Must pass a background check.

experience in leadership.

Service skills.

enjoys working in an environment of leadership roles.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Must be able to work with  a team and be able to learn quickly and adapt easily.

Able to work Monday-Friday on camp sight. including weekends as needed.

Able to lift 50 pounds on a frequent basis.

Ability to walk, stand, and work on feet up to 10 hours a day. 

The ability to move safely over rough and uneven terrain.

The ability to work in extreme weather.

Basic manual labor abilities, including an ability and willingness to clean and sanitize facilities with a variety of cleaning agents and chemicals.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Hold or obtain First Aid & CPR.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Wilderness First Responder

Overnight Camp experience.

Outdoor recreation experience: Rock Climbing, Rappelling, WhiteWater Kayaking, Sailing, paddle boarding, Hiking
