Chief Executive Officer
Summary
The Learning Center for Families dba Root for Kids is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to provide leadership and supervision to a program that provides a variety of services to vulnerable children and pregnant women in Washington, Iron and San Juan County in Southern Utah as well as along the Arizona Strip including Colorado City and Beaver Dam. The program mission is to nurture strong beginnings in all children. Must be committed to providing a high quality, family-focused, family support program and be able to work with a broad spectrum of individuals. This is a Full Time Exempt position with some-what flexible hours. Requires working on site as well as regularly interfacing with the local community, and with various State and Federal stake holders.
Major Functions
• The CEO will provide overall leadership to the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of the entire Root for Kids organization.
• Oversees the development of policies, procedures, systems and programs.
• Ensures the organization embraces diversity and inclusion.
• Develops resources including writing state and federal grant proposals and provides oversight to the Chief Development Officer to acquire other funding sources.
• Actively researches opportunities as well as recognizes threats to the agency.
• Works closely with the Chief Fiscal Offer to develop and administer budgets for all programs.
• Approves purchases exceeding $500 as well as pay rates, rate changes, changes in hours and unusual leave requests.
• Serves in the capacity pf the public relations point person and the liaison with community, state and regional officials, other agency directors, etc.
• Develops partnership agreements, Interagency Agreements and Memorandums of Understanding.
• Participates in the hiring of the management team and other administrative staff.
• Conducts all involuntary staff terminations.
• Provides leadership to regular Management Team meetings. Leads semimonthly Directors meetings.
• Serves as the director of the Early Head Start program and the Caterpillar Clubhouse Child Development Center.
• Reviews and approves all contracts including those for Early Intervention clinicians.
• Provides leadership to the Strategic Planning Committee.
• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with the Board of Directors and Policy Council.
• Ensures that facilities, materials and equipment are regularly monitored to ensure safety.
• Ensures program compliance with all grant requirements.
