FT Women’s Therapist in Outpatient SUD Program in SLC


House of Hope (HOH) has an opening for an experienced and skilled clinical therapist to work with adult women in day treatment and intensive outpatient levels of care for substance use and mental health disorders in Salt Lake City.

Primary Responsibilities:


· Serve as a full-time therapist in outpatient treatment program, providing five groups per week and individual sessions for a caseload of 12-14 women using approved modalities and practices including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, IFS, ACT, EMDR, etc. for which they are trained.


· Facilitate a healthy program environment by maintaining a calm and healing demeanor with clients who may struggle with trauma and self-regulation during crises as well as following ethical and professional policies and practices.


· Provide structure for the community of women in treatment such that a safe, motivating, healing environment is maintained despite inherent conflicts and challenges of those in early recovery.


· Model good mental health and coping skills to model for clients what stability looks like in various situations and provides curriculum to teach and practice therapeutic skills to promote healing.


· Ensures that treatment service delivery meets the requirements for levels of care and best practices for recovery services for women according to the ASAM model of Addiction Treatment.


· Complete documentation at the time of service and in compliance with Medicaid and insurance guidelines in the UWITS and Best Notes system including authorizations, assessment, treatment planning, reviews, progress notes and discharge planning.


· Coordinate with HOH treatment team, outside agencies, healthy support persons as needed to collaborate on care of client in early recovery.


· Provide 50-60% direct care with clients and meet deadlines for discharges, court reports, notes, and all other documentation required by HOH and all funding sources in a timely manner.


· Attends weekly staff meetings, training, and individual supervision while demonstrating openness to personal and professional learning, feedback and generalization of best practice modalities for women in the SUD field.


· May represent HOH and client interests in the community and partners with other agencies such as drug courts, DCFS, AP&P, Workforce Services, and other medical and mental health partners in Salt Lake County.


· Assist outpatient team in developing new services and activities to grow the HOH OP community size and outreach by creating and implementing ideas that promote strong early recovery skills.


· Knowledgeable in trauma informed treatment for women and the SAMSHA principles of recovery systems of care.


We are looking for someone who is:


· Experienced as a therapist in direct care of clients, preference for employment or internship experience in SUD treatment or 4+ years in human services field


· Organized, innovative and adept at communication and problem-solving skills.


· Must be adept at managing crises and resolving conflicts in a calm professional manner, able to balance multiple priorities and generally oversee the details of a healthy treatment community with the overall goal of empowering women and strengthening families.


· Able to communicate effectively and professionally in person and in writing,


· Proficient with computer and clinical documentation skills


· Most importantly, has a passion for working on a collaborative team to help women in recovery.


Education Required: Master’s degree and Utah licensure in good standing in Utah as an CSW, LCSW, AMFT, MFT, ACMHC or CMHC


Agency Requirements:


This is a non-smoking work site

Must be +21 years of age

Must be able to pass a background check and drug test

If in recovery, must have at least 2 years of continuous sobriety

Must have personal reliable transportation, driver’s license, and clean driving record as occasionally driving for work duties is required.

Hours: Full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional evening for family or specialty groups or workshops


Job Location: On-site in Salt Lake City (no remote work)


Pay Range: $70-$84K wage with approx. $20K in paid benefits.
