JOB SUMMARY:

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake (BGCGSL) is seeking an engaging and experienced Club Director for our Miller Family Boys & Girls Club located in the heart of Murray, UT. The Miller Family Boys & Girls Club is a Tier 1 club serving 200+ kids at this location and we are searching for a candidate who will proactively boost enrollment numbers to increase the number of kids we can serve. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about helping youth succeed and will join a team of dedicated and passionate professionals of one of the largest youth development organizations in the state, reaching nearly 6,000 kids and teens in Salt Lake, Carbon, and Tooele Counties. This role reports directly to the COO and is a key leader within the organization. 

As a Club Director, you will establish Club programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and create an outcome-driven Club experience that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes. This role will also create and maintain excellent rapport with schools and school district personnel/administration, community supporters, and local municipalities.

Responsibilities of the Club Director:

As a Club Director, you will establish programs, activities, and services that prepare youth for success and create a results-driven Club experience. You will maintain excellent rapport with schools, community supporters, and local municipalities. In this role, you will oversee leadership development for three Program Directors (Child Care, Juniors, and Teens) and key staff, ensuring a healthy and safe environment with well-maintained facilities. Your responsibilities include planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating overall programs to meet objectives and member needs. Regularly compiling reports reflecting activities, attendance, and participation will be a key part of your duties. You will manage financial resources, develop annual budgets, and control expenditures, ensuring administrative and operational systems maintain the Club's physical properties and equipment. Additionally, you will recruit, manage, and provide career development opportunities for staff and volunteers, conduct regular staff meetings, develop and maintain public relations to increase the visibility of programs within the Club and the community, and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, and local businesses.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to recruit, train, supervise and motivate staff
  • Ability to increase enrollment across programs
  • Ability to prioritize and adhere to grant program deadline requirements
  • Ability to deal effectively with members including discipline problems
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control and management
  • Demonstrated ability in working with young people, parents and community leaders

Organization Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Must be able to drive 15 passenger vehicles and have a good driving record
  • CPR and First Aid certified or obtain within 30 days of hire with our organization
  • Be adaptable and flexible to change
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (three hours or more consecutively)
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds sporadically during a regular work shift
  • Must be able to be physically active (bend, kneel, reach, stretch, etc.) throughout a regular work shift
