Community Center Volunteers & Social Media AmeriCorps VISTA
Position Type: Full-time, 1-Year Service Term (AmeriCorps VISTA)

Program Description: The United Way Community Center at South Franklin provides
numerous programs and services to achieve our goal of building community and
encouraging residents to work together to enhance their lives and their
surroundings.
Position Description: The United Way Community Center at South Franklin provides access to
educational programs that promote individual growth and encourage relationship
building and focuses in serving low income families in Provo. VISTA member will
create, document and implements a plan for volunteer recruitment, scheduling and
recognition in order to increase the number of volunteers and improve the overall
volunteer experience. VISTA member will create content for social media outreach and
other communications.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
● Create, document and implement a plan for volunteer recruitment, scheduling
and recognition in order to increase the number of volunteers and improve
the overall volunteer experience.
● Implement internal communications plan through the design of templates,
including digital and print design.
● Manage and track donation inventory.
● Create consistent and interactive content across all social media platforms to
promote South Franklin’s programs.
● Develop relationships with stakeholders including the low-income residents
benefitting from services.
Qualifications:
● Valid Utah Driver’s License and access to personal vehicle for use during working hours.
● Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with ability to learn new software applications
● Strong organizational and project management skills
● Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
● Experience in community outreach, education, or nonprofit work is a plus
● Passion for digital inclusion and community engagement
● Spanish language skills is a plus

Work Schedule: The typical work schedule will be 8:30am-5:00pm.This is a full-time 40
hrs./week position based at our office in Provo, UT. However, working hours may vary and may
include occasional night or weekend hours.
