Community Engagement Manager
Hours: Full time, 32 hours per week, some evenings and weekends
Salary: $28-33 per hour
Benefits: Health benefits, twelve paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, starting at 15 days of paid personal time off
Work Location: Must be in the Salt Lake office 3 days per week, some in-state travel required
Reports to: Programs Director
Position Summary
This position requires a high energy, growth mindset, can-do personality, with a track record of growing programs and events. The Community Engagement Manager (CEM) plays a pivotal role in building awareness of NAMI Utah throughout the state with the ultimate goal being to make NAMI Utah a household term.
Job Duties
NAMI Utah Affiliates (40%)
NAMI Affiliates are formal groups of community members, run by a volunteer steering committees charged with promoting mental health awareness, NAMI programs, suicide prevention efforts, and advocacy efforts. Responsibilities:
- Help develop and support affiliates throughout the state through administrative and technical assistance for compliance and reporting.
- Coordinate quarterly statewide affiliate leader meetings that include training and support.
- Plan and implement annual affiliate retreat for leader education, support, and celebration.
- Work closely with affiliate leaders, programs director and suicide prevention director to implement in-person NAMI programs and suicide prevention trainings.
NAMIWalks (40%)
- Serve as the lead for NAMIWalks, including planning, community outreach, procuring in-kind donations, and building awareness through social media and communications.
- Recruit, train, and manage partnerships in support of the NAMIWalks, including community organizations, schools, and clubs.
- Recruit, train, support and show appreciation for volunteers.
- Develop and manage the project timeline, budget, and event logistics to ensure a successful, safe, and mission-centered event, then be the day-of on-site lead for the NAMIWalks.
- Manage NAMIWalks walkers and teams through an online platform, including team/participant recruitment and support, data management, reporting, and communications.
- Monitor fundraising progress, prepare regular reports, and implement strategies to increase donations and participation. Continue to engage walkers, partners, participants, and volunteers through relationship building and shows of gratitude post-event.
- Maintain all event metrics and conduct a post-event evaluation, including participation and fundraising results, lessons learned, and recommend improvements for future NAMIWalks.
Social Media* (20%)
- Create, schedule, and publish compelling content across social media platforms consistent with NAMI Utah's brand and mission.
- Grow and engage online audiences through timely, responsive, and meaningful interactions.
- Monitor social media performance and use data to create reporting, optimize content, and achieve organizational goals.
- Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to highlight programs, events, advocacy, and stories of impact.

Qualifications
- Two to three years of event planning experience
- Three to five years’ experience managing people, programs, and/or events
- Experience with volunteers preferred
- Excellent communication skills with diverse groups of people
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
