Community Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary: The Community Outreach Coordinator leads community outreach initiatives to increase awareness of and foster support for the organization’s mission and challenges relating to it. They develop and implement strategies to build partnerships with employers through strategic engagement opportunities and strengthen agency partnerships to advance program referrals and outreach goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Employer Engagement: Recruit, onboard, manage, and engage both local and national employer partners in programs and activities. Prepares and updates appropriate employer partner materials. Conducts program overviews, training sessions, and volunteer recruitment opportunities.
Community Outreach/Partnerships: Recruit, onboard, manage, and engage resource and agency partners in programs and activities resulting in referrals to the PHP program. Prepares appropriate recruiting and program materials. Conducts program overviews and participates in community tabling events.
Phase 1 Client Support: Support Phase 1 outreach activities and workshop needs.
General Marketing: Create and distribute PHP marketing materials and contribute to social media management.
Events: Plan, coordinate, and execute 2x/year Single Mothers Seminar Job Fairs and annual Agency & Employer Legacy Awards Event. Assist with other PHP events for volunteers, employers, agencies, donors, and clients as assigned.
Track and report monthly community outreach, employer, and agency/resource activities/outcomes.
Become an expert in each area, concept, and/or tool introduced at PHP workshops and coaching and mentoring sessions.
Become an ambassador and spokesperson for PHP in the community.
Work Schedule/Requirements: Monday/Wednesday 9-5pm, Tuesday/Thursday 11:30am-7:30pm, every other Saturday 8am-12pm, occasional Fridays. Staff are eligible for remote work on Wednesdays and Saturdays following a 90-day probation period and evaluation. This role is expected to be flexible working in Salt Lake, Tooele, Utah, Davis, and Weber counties. Candidate must have a car and be willing to travel as needed each month. PHP offers mileage reimbursement.
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years of consistent work experience in a similar field is required.
Non-profit experience (paid or volunteer) is preferred.
Sales and/or customer service experience is required.
Strong professional network and networking skills.
Basic understanding of non-profit culture and community resource and agency partners.
Strong knowledge of GSUITE, Zoom, Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Teams, and Excel.
Self-motivated.
Attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication; email and phone etiquette.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
Ability to facilitate both in-person and virtual meetings 1-1 and in groups.
Strong ability to track progress, monitor results, and prepare monthly reports.
Strong organization.
Good attitude.
Team player.
Willing to learn and receive feedback.
Outgoing personality.
Candidates will not be considered without having 5+ years of work experience and a willingness to work with a fluid job description.
