Position Type: Full-time Regular, Exempt (Salary)

Location: Hybrid, on-site 2-3 days per week (Park City, Utah)

Salary: $95,000 to $105,000 annual salary (depending on experience)

Job Summary: 

The Controller is a key member of the Finance and Accounting team, responsible for the accuracy and integrity of all financial records and processes. The role combines elements of budgeting, general ledger management, financial reporting, internal controls, compliance, cash flow management and data analysis. The Controller reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure proper accounting and compliance while providing valuable insights that drive business decisions. This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits. This position is eligible for remote work 2-3 days per week.  


Essential Duties:

  • Oversees or executes month-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. Prepares and reviews financial statements and reports for compliance with US GAAP.
  • Maintains and confirms effective operation of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of two Senior Accountants in the accounting and accounts payable teams.
  • Supervises, trains, mentors, and evaluates assigned personnel; identifies talent needs and supports recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
  • Supports the development of department annual goals, establishes priorities, provides resources, support, and regular feedback for professional development; sets performance expectations, provides coaching, and administers disciplinary action as needed.
  • Identifies and executes on opportunities to streamline processes to improve efficiency and data quality within the finance function.
  • Partners with other corporate business functions to ensure proper accounting treatment of all corporate contracts and transactions.
  • Supports the annual financial budget cycle and target setting; performs analysis and creates presentations for external board and finance committee members.
  • Supports enterprise risk management activities, including annual corporate insurance renewal.
  • Assists with key fundraising events and other special events as needed to help advance program goals and support; serves as an ambassador and representative for the National Ability Center.
  • Other duties as assigned.       

                                                                                   

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 4+ years of relevant and progressive accounting experience.
  • Excellent understanding of US GAAP and internal control requirements.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Pass pre-employment background check.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or MAcc preferred.
  • Experience with Sage Intaact, BILL.com and Vena financial platforms.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience with non-profit accounting and revenue recognition.

  • Ability to work with other department leads to ensure development, collaboration, and execution for shared goals.
  • Ability to develop quality presentations and present to all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and networking skills to be able to advocate for the needs of the Finance Department with key stakeholders.
  • Strong work ethic and an entrepreneurial spirit to accommodate multiple responsibilities and shifting priorities in a quick-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to work productively and collaboratively within a team.
