Development Director

What you’ll own

Fundraising Strategy & Execution

  • Partner with the Executive Director to set and deliver annual fundraising goals
  • Own performance tracking across all fundraising channels and adjust strategy based on results
  • Use donor data to drive segmentation, targeting, and growth
  • Align efforts across 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC priorities

Donor Growth & Stewardship

  • Build and manage relationships with major donors and high-potential supporters
  • Develop and grow a statewide donor pipeline
  • Lead post-event and post-campaign follow-up to convert engagement into revenue
  • Partner with leadership and board members on high-value donor relationships
  • Secure in-kind contributions to support campaigns and events

Corporate & Revenue Development

  • Own corporate sponsorships, partnerships, and revenue opportunities
  • Prospect, pitch, and close new corporate partners
  • Grow and manage recurring partnerships to increase long-term value
  • Expand corporate training and education programs as a revenue stream
  • Collaborate with external partners to strengthen pipeline and outreach

Events & Campaigns

  • Lead fundraising strategy for key events and campaigns
  • Set revenue targets, timelines, and execution plans
  • Support donor-facing events, including hosted house parties and regional gatherings
  • Ensure strong follow-through that drives donor retention and upgrades

Collaboration & Visibility

  • Represent the organization in donor, corporate, and community settings
  • Partner with Marketing to build a consistent pipeline of opportunities and relationships
  • Work cross-functionally to align fundraising with programs, operations, and finance
  • Support board and committee engagement related to fundraising strategy

What success looks like

  • Consistently hitting or exceeding fundraising targets
  • A growing and active donor pipeline across the state
  • Strong conversion from events and campaigns into sustained giving
  • Expansion of corporate partnerships and recurring revenue streams
  • Clear systems and processes that scale fundraising efforts

What you bring

  • Proven ability to generate revenue through fundraising, sales, or partnerships
  • Confidence in making direct asks and closing commitments
  • Strong instincts for relationship-building and long-term cultivation
  • Ability to translate strategy into execution and measurable outcomes
  • Experience using CRM tools and data to drive decisions
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, evolving environment


Experience

  • 2+ years in fundraising, sales, business development, or similar roles
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit or advocacy work is a plus, not required

Compensation & Benefits

  • On-target earnings: $90,000 (65% base / 35% performance-based incentives)
  • Uncapped upside tied to revenue performance

Role Details

  • Full-time
  • Based in Utah with regular in-person meetings, events, and statewide travel

Evening and weekend availability as needed for events and donor engagement
