Development Manager

Utah Film Center connects people, stories, and ideas through film, media arts, and artist support. We offer Utahns unparalleled arts and cultural programming including year round access to primarily documentary films and discussions, two annual festivals (Utah Queer Film Festival and Tumbleweeds Film Festival), media arts education for 20,000+ students and teachers annually, and support for Utah-based and international

This position reports to the Development Director and works closely across all programs and departments. Previous development experience, including customer relations and events or project management, is strongly preferred.

conception to conclusion, with creativity.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The development manager supports all fundraising efforts of the Utah Film Center,

including growing our donor pipeline, cultivating relationships, and implementing

fundraising events, sales, sponsorships, and institutional donor initiatives.

Donor Engagement and Cultivation:

● Works to grow Individual donor pipelines through programs like the Movie

Lovers Club and our festivals, utilizing creativity, strategy and inter-departmental

collaboration,

● Provides value-added experiences and exclusive opportunities/information for

Movie Lovers Club through communications, small events, and other

opportunities

● Integrates festival household donors into organizational donor pipeline and

events,

● Strategizes about cultivating attendees and one time donors to become

sustainers, and

● Inspires, engages, creatively, and thoughtfully acknowledges donor investment


Events:

● Works with the development director and any contractors to design and

implement our annual benefit: A Red Carpet Affair, esp. donor experience

● Works with the director and marketing team to implement a diverse

revenue-generating strategy for events, including sponsorships, ticketing, onsite

activation, and any silent and live auction opportunities

● Supports any platform usage, ticketing, activations, communications, and

after-event tax receipts for donors and participants

● Implements donor-specific festival events, including sneak peeks, receptions,

and closing parties, and

● Effectively designs and implements other events for donors


Development Admin/General:

● Supports storytelling and relationships through data entry, maintenance and

reporting in Salesforce-ensuring communications, follow-up tasks, tax

acknowledgments, opportunities, and other records are accurate to optimize

database functionality and processes.

● Supports annual report and annual appeal campaigns with research, copy, data,

and storytelling.

● Researches funding opportunities for the Film Center and its programs; tracks all

grant and report deadlines and helps keep department calendars and priorities

up to date; coordinates application components with program managers;

gathers all pertinent data and stories to write complete, accurate, and

persuasive proposals.

● Helps program managers adhere to grant guidelines and responsibilities with

fidelity; works closely with program staff and the communications team to

ensure donor investments are acknowledged and used appropriately.

● Collaborates with other Utah Film Center team members to identify and realize

opportunities for generating earned and contributed revenue.

● Works with the marketing team to support business engagement and

co-branding opportunities.

● Contributes to organizational external storytelling

● Other duties as assigned, Including supporting the leadership team and the

board for fundraising-specific events and activities.



This Salt Lake City-based position is a full-time, hourly position and includes paid holidays, paid time off, a retirement, medical and dental plan. The pay range for this position is $23.07/hr to $25.00/hr depending upon experience.
