Development Officer
The Development Officer is a key leadership position at WMI, responsible for planning and implementing strategies to secure the financial resources necessary to support and expand our mission. This includes building and maintaining relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
Responsibilities:
Fundraising:
Help to develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising plan, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and corporate sponsorships.
Help with Grant Writing under the supervision of the Executive Director.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective donors.
Oversee fundraising events and campaigns.
Donor Relations:
Build and nurture strong relationships with current and potential donors.
Maintain accurate donor records and acknowledgements.
Develop and implement donor recognition and stewardship strategies.
Communications:
Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop compelling messaging and materials that highlight WMI's impact.
Represent WMI at community events and speaking engagements.
Strategic Planning:
Work with the Executive Director and Board of Directors to set fundraising goals and priorities.
Monitor and evaluate fundraising performance and adjust strategies as needed.
Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
At least 1 year of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
