Overview: We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that envisions a Utah where every LGBTQ+ individual feels not just accepted but truly belongs and is loved. Our work centers around visibility and support, symbolized by neighborhoods adorned with rainbow flags, radiating acceptance, safety, and care. Since 2018, we've granted over $300,000 to LGBTQ+ programs, events, and services, empowering the community and fostering inclusivity. Our impactful campaigns include events like Trans Day of Visibility, Pride Month, and Trans Awareness Week.

Available Board Positions: Director (1-2 Spots Available) & Secretary
We are seeking experienced, community-oriented individuals to join our Board of Directors. Available roles include general Director positions and the role of Secretary.

Director: Govern the overall execution of the organization's mission by supporting the ED in setting short and long term priorities for programs, managing organizational finances and makes key decisions such as community fund disbursements. Overall, the members of the Board contribute the educational, management, legal, and financial skills needed to ensure long term organizational stability and ensure year-to-year excellence for PRU's mission.

Potential areas of expertise:

  • Grant making experience
  • HR/legal professional (i.e. SH, RM}
  • Major donor expertise/ connections

Secretary: Responsible for keeping records of board actions, including overseeing the taking of minutes at all board meetings, sending out meeting announcements, distributing copies of minutes and the agenda to each board member, and assuring that corporate records are maintained. These responsibilities are done in concert with the Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer, and this role sits on the Executive Committee for the organization.

  • Non-profit governance
  • Detail oriented

Expectations for Both Roles:

  • 2 year commitment
  • Attend monthly hour-long meetings
  • Twice a year board retreats
  • Ability to contribute to a committee and/or volunteer at PRU events
  • $500 give or get contribution to the organization
