Full-time, benefited position based in Alpine, Utah. Hybrid-in person and virtual.

Cherish Families is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to lead and oversee all clinical programming for our organization. This role combines clinical leadership, staff supervision, program management, and a limited direct therapy caseload. The Director of Clinical Services reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for ensuring that all therapeutic services are high-quality, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and compliant with funder and regulatory requirements.Scheduling, billing, and claims processing are handled by other staff; this role focuses on clinical quality, supervision, and program oversight.


Compensation and Benefits


• Salary: $85,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience

Clinical Leadership and Supervision


• Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and service standards


• Supervise clinical staff, including therapists and other mental health professionals, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to best practices


• Provide weekly individual supervision to each supervisee, including documentation review and case consultation


• Conduct regular case reviews, monitor clinical outcomes, and provide guidance on treatment approaches


• Facilitate training sessions and professional development opportunities for the clinical team


• Perform quarterly and annual employee reviews and provide performance feedback


• Coordinate referrals and manage contractor caseloads with the Clinical Support Specialist


• Track client progress through both internal and contracted services; adjust as necessary


• Oversee fidelity of clinical records and perform scheduled file audits


Direct Therapy (Limited Caseload)


• Maintain a direct therapy caseload of approximately 12 to 15 active clients per week


• Assess clients and triage for immediate mental health needs


• Provide direct therapeutic services to select clients, including individual, family, and group therapy sessions


• Maintain clinical records, calendar, and internal documentation current within 72 hours


• Track and submit required statistical reports


Note: Caseload expectations account for the supervision, compliance, and program oversight responsibilities of this role. The caseload may be adjusted based on the number and licensure status of supervisees.


Program Management and Compliance


• Ensure all clinical programs and services meet established quality and best-practice benchmarks


• Ensure therapy practices and documentation adhere to funder requirements


• Oversee compliance with contract and regulatory requirements, including insurance and Medicaid regulations


• Manage the clinical documentation process, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness


• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Finance Manager on therapy team budgets (staff and contracted)


• Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards


Insurance and Licensing Oversight


• Work with the team to pursue agency paneling with insurance providers and Medicaid


• Manage contracts with insurance providers and ensure compliance with provider requirements


• Apply for and maintain Medicaid licensing, addressing all requirements for ongoing eligibility


• Work with billing and administrative staff to oversee claims, reimbursement, and documentation


Quality Assurance and Outcomes


• Oversee quality benchmarks, including client satisfaction, clinical effectiveness, and staff performance


• Collect and analyze client outcome data to assess program efficacy and identify areas for improvement


• Report regularly on clinical metrics, program milestones, and outcomes to the Executive Director


Community Education


• Support occasional evening or weekend outreach and community events as needed


• Assess effectiveness of classes and provide required reporting


Qualifications


• Active clinical therapy license in Utah (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent); willingness to pursue Arizona licensure (both will be required for ongoing work)


• Minimum 3 years of post-licensure clinical experience, with demonstrated supervisory experience sufficient to supervise and mentor a team of 3 intern/therapists.


• Preferred: experience working with individuals and families from insular or underserved communities, including plural family backgrounds


• Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed care and culturally responsive service delivery


• Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills; ability to manage software and reporting systems


• Must pass a background check and drug screening
