DIY Festival Bartender

Overview: 


Craft Lake City is looking for DIY Festival Bartenders who are wonderfully enthusiastic and can provide great customer service at our 18th Annual Craft Lake City DIY Festival Presented by Harmons. Bartenders will assist with the preparation and sale of beer, wine, and other beverages at designated festival bars and champion the genuine, thoughtful sale of Craft Lake City offerings. Bartenders are responsible for providing exceptional guest service while maintaining a safe and responsible drinking environment for patrons and visitors of the DIY Festival. As a Bartender, you'll also have a great chance to work with a supportive team of individuals who allow Craft Lake City to create a unique festival for our community. 


This is a seasonal contract position for the DIY Festival, held Friday August 7th, Saturday August 8th, and Sunday August 9th, 2026 at the Utah State Fairpark. Bartenders are required to be onsite for extended hours during the festival, so working long hours in potentially extreme heat are factors to consider and keep in mind when applying for this position. Training will be provided.


Qualifications: ● Must be 21 years of age or older

● Must hold a valid Utah alcohol service permit, or be able to obtain one prior to the festival 

● Previous bartending or beverage service experience preferred 

● Basic math skills and cash/card handling experience 

● Great under pressure and has stress management abilities 

● Knows how to provide spectacular customer service 

● Ability to recognize and responsibly handle intoxicated guests and refuse service when necessary 

● Ability to check IDs accurately and consistently 

● Previous experience with Square POS is a bonus 

● Previous experience with large events would be preferred 

● Honesty and integrity when it comes to handling cash and card transactions and/or any personal information 

● Ability to professionally interact with festival patrons and staff 

● Ability to passionately communicate and sell Craft Lake City product offerings 

● Great at communication and problem-solving skills 

● Ability to adapt and be flexible when necessary to help other team members 

● Ability to think quickly and resolve problems that may arise with an outdoor event 

● Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift kegs, cases, and ice as needed 

● Must be punctual 

● Knows how to spell "team player" without an "I" or "me"
