Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah is seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Manager to drive engagement and impact through compelling large-scale fundraising events. In this role, you’ll spearhead the strategic development and implementation of Big Brother Big Sisters of Utah’s three annual fundraising events, with goals focused on sponsorships, donor engagement, community involvement, and brand awareness.
Take charge of developing detailed project plans, cultivating strong sponsor relationships, and managing budgets to ensure events align with organizational goals. Your proactive approach will shine as you lead project planning meetings, develop detailed event timelines, generate sponsorships and registrations, and supervise event volunteers. Leveraging your experience, you'll expertly navigate high-stress situations, ensuring flawless execution with a creative touch. Your self-starter attitude and attention to detail will be key as you track event performance and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Event Support
- Develop comprehensive project plans for our three major events, and additional smaller events including goals, roles, timelines, etc. and track and incorporate ROI and other measures to implement continuous improvement
- Secure new corporate sponsors. Build strong relationships with existing sponsors and vendors prior to and during the event to ensure flawless efficiency
- Manage event budgets to ensure that all events are delivered within scope and on budget
- Manage the development and execution of project planning meetings; lead specific event committees
- Manage internal and external event volunteers before and on the day of the event
- Take ownership of event software to build and manage event pages (using fund development software Qgiv or similar) to support event registration and individual fundraising for events
- Track all communication, gifts, and in-kind donations
- Work with Marketing Manager to provide event support
- Develop and track analytics, reporting key benchmarks to supervisor, committee, etc – throughout event planning and post-event
- Develop targeted stewardship guidelines for each event
- Provide assistance to fund development and other departments with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of direct event experience
- Large scale gala-style event experience is important (events with 300+ attendees)
- Understanding of donor relations a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, etc. OR equivalent experience
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software a plus
- Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google suites, Excel and Google sheets, Adobe Creative Suite a plus
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. The employee must be able to transcribe, read extensively, prepare and analyze data and figures, constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The employee is required to regularly travel to offsite locations to set up presentations and display physical and electronic forms. The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.
Compensation, Perks & Benefits:
Approved salary range: $55,000-$62,000 per year; annual salary commensurate with experience
- Health Benefits - Medical/Dental/Vision - available on the 1st day of the month after you start.
- Paid Time Off – On Average our staff earn/accrue more than $4,000 annually from Paid Time Off Benefits.
- Two Weeks Paid Vacation
- Paid Holidays include – most government holidays AND 1 week between December 25th and January 1st
