Park City Ski & Snowboard (PCSS), a U.S. Ski & Snowboard Gold Certified Club serving more than 1,200 athletes, seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization during a pivotal period as Park City prepares to host the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
The Executive Director will provide strategic and organizational leadership to position PCSS as a nationally leading and internationally recognized winter sports organization. The role focuses on mission-driven culture, strong community and resort partnerships, sustainable financial growth, and effective administration. PCSS operates as a single-member LLC under the Utah Olympic Legacy Foundation (UOLF), a 501(c)(3), with shared finance, HR, and governance services.

Executive Leadership & Strategy
The Executive Director sets and executes a long-term vision that ensures organizational health, financial sustainability, and operational excellence. In partnership with the Board of Managers and Sport Directors, the ED aligns programs, resources, and culture with strategic priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead long-range strategy that advances PCSS as a national leader with international impact.
- Foster a values-based culture emphasizing character development, athletic excellence, and community pride.
- Build and lead a high-performing senior team capable of delivering mission-focused results.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Board, supporting strong governance, transparency, and accountability.
Organizational & Sport Leadership
The Executive Director ensures efficient, professional operations while empowering Athletic Directors and senior staff to lead day-to-day execution.
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee organizational structure, staffing strategy, and leadership development across sport, operations, and administration.
- Ensure systems and infrastructure support high-quality programs, staff effectiveness, and athlete development.
- Maintain compliance with U.S. Ski & Snowboard standards, SafeSport requirements, and Gold Certification benchmarks through staff-led accountability.
Financial Leadership, Fundraising & Sponsorship
The Executive Director provides strategic financial leadership and is actively engaged in revenue growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with staff and the Board to develop annual budgets and long-term financial plans.
- Maintain a strong working relationship with UOLF under the services agreement.
- Lead fundraising strategy with the Development Director and Board, setting clear goals and performance metrics.
- Actively participate in major donor cultivation, corporate sponsorship development, foundation support, and government funding.
- Align fundraising, marketing, and communications to maximize visibility, sponsorship value, and community investment.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
The Executive Director serves as a visible ambassador for PCSS. Responsibilities include:
- Represent PCSS in key community, resort, and regional partnerships.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with resorts, Olympic and training venues, schools, and community organizations.
- Champion PCSS’s mission, values, and impact with families, donors, sponsors, and civic leaders.
- Ensure a strong, consistent public presence through media and community engagement, led by staff.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
The Executive Director ensures organizational integrity and sound governance. Responsibilities include:
- Support Board and member meetings in compliance with governance and certification requirements.
- Negotiate and execute major contracts with appropriate review.
- Oversee risk management, insurance, SafeSport compliance, and regulatory obligations, delegating administration to staff.
Required Knowledge & Essential Skills
- Leadership: Strategic, confident, and collaborative leader who empowers others and models the PCSS values.
- Trust & Governance: Loyal and accountable to the principles, policies, and procedures of UOLF and PCSS.
- Communication: Clear, transparent, and effective communicator across written, verbal, and public-facing platforms.
- Strategic Planning: Ability to envision, prioritize, and guide initiatives while enabling staff ownership of execution.
- Relationship Building: Demonstrated ability to build trust with staff, volunteers, athletes, families, partners, and donors.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting and financial systems (Excel, NetSuite, or similar).
- Fundraising Experience: Proven success in nonprofit fundraising and donor stewardship.
- Marketing & Public Relations: Speak and present to a broad array of stakeholders, including athletes, coaches, parents, and community groups, in support of PCSS. Comfortable command of the mission and message to engage constituent groups.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within two months.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 18 years of age.
Education / Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Physical Education, Kinesiology, or asimilar field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership of complex and dynamic organizations.
- Experience coaching/administration/leadership in youth sports, preferably in winter sports.
