POSITION DESCRIPTION

Utah Film Center is seeking a manager for our very vibrant Fiscal Sponsorship program which currently supports over 180 global independent media arts projects. This position monitors the grant process, builds and maintains relationships with artists and filmmakers, and maintains relevant records related to each project, working closely with Utah Film Center’s director of finance to track and apply funding. This position reports directly to the Finance Director. 


This in-person Salt Lake City-based position is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position and includes paid holidays, paid time off, a retirement plan, medical, and dental plan.


Starting pay: $25 per hour

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Overseeing the Fiscal Sponsorship program includes:

- Monitoring incoming grant applications for program alignment and adherence to guidelines 

- Presenting grant requests to a review committee

- Maintaining relationships with filmmakers

- Providing friendly, timely, and professional customer service 

- Maintaining the project database

- Tracking and logging funding requests

- Working with the accounting department to insure funds are administered 

- Further developing benefit programs for filmmakers 

- Work with the marketing team to create and present educational materials for fiscal sponsorship

- Reviewing, updating, and maintaining industry standards


REQUIREMENTS

- A passion for storytelling and particularly independent film 

- Humble, hardworking, and people smart

- Skillful at customer service and relationship building

- Professional-level presentation, verbal, and written communication skills

- A proactive approach to problem-solving, including calculated risk management and decision-making ability

- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and projects

- Adept at using discretion; regarding donors, contracts and intellectual properties 

- Able to work independently with minimal supervision. 

- Integrate modern software to streamline workflows and improve existing processes

- A working knowledge of Quickbooks, Salesforce, Google Business Suite proficiency a plus

- Experience with sales and contract negotiations preferred

Utah Film Center is a Salt Lake City-based 501(c) (3) organization that connects people, stories, and ideas through film exhibition, media arts education, and artist support. Founded in 2002, Utah Film Center presents films for cinema lovers of all ages, offers in-class and teacher-focused education programs, and provides a variety of services and support for filmmakers and media artists. We collaborate with educational and community organizations to champion underrepresented voices and perspectives, encourage diversity, empathy, and community-building, and develop new audiences for film. Additionally, we curate and organize two film festivals each year: the Tumbleweeds Film Festival, which is geared towards kids and families, and the Utah Queer Film Festival, featuring stories from the LGBTQIA+ community.
