Grants and Program Specialist
Position Summary:
Historic Wendover Airfield seeks a dynamic and self-motivated individual who can help us find and write grants for our operations and expansion of the museum. To be effective in this role, this person will need to spend time working on site at the museum so that they better understand our vision for the future. We’re looking for someone who is outgoing, flexible, creative, and passionate about history—especially the World War II era. You will play a vital role in helping to fund the developing museum programs and shaping the museum’s future. Opportunities beyond grant writing are available as well. You would be able to contribute to and support airfield activities. This is a full-time position although the board might consider a part time position above 50%. If you live outside of Wendover, Utah, in person duties at the museum in Wendover will be expected with compensation to be determined to cover travel expenses.
Key Responsibilities:
A primary role is developing and securing funding for the foundation through grant identification and writing. (60-70%)
Contribute to the implementation of engaging visitor programs for a variety of audiences. (~20%)
Assist with the museum’s membership program, with a focus on improving communication and engagement. (~5%)
Contribute to content for the museum’s digital presence through social media and online platforms. (~5%)
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Friendly, outgoing personality with a passion for history, especially World War II.
Significant experience in researching grant opportunities and producing/submitting grants.
Strong computer skills, and experience with social media platforms.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team.
Willingness and ability to work remotely, with typically 2 days onsite in Wendover, Utah each week.
