Health Coordinator


Utah Community Action is accepting applications for a full-time Health Coordinator. Best of State 2024 for Best Public Preschool and 2022 Best Charitable Service Organization.

This Health Coordinator position earns a competitive salary of $32.91/hour. We also offer generous benefits including health, dental, vision, a flexible spending account (FSA), a healthcare spending account (HSA) with up to a $2,500 match, a 401k plan with 5% match, short and long-term disability, accident insurance, life insurance, 11 paid holidays, paid time off between Christmas and New Year's, paid time off (PTO- up to 192 hours a year), and an hour of paid time on Fridays for self-care. Home office located in West Jordan. Travel required.

As a Health Coordinator, you are responsible for developing plans and timelines for implementing and monitoring health services and trainings for staff, families and children according to the Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Licensing regulations. Responsible to maintain a working relationship with health care professionals in the community that provide health education and health care services for Head Start children, families and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in health, Public Health Policy or other related degree
  • Preferred education-master's degree in health, Public Health Policy or other related degree
  • 2 years of Head Start experience
  • 2 years of related health experience
  • 2 years of supervisory experience

JOB DUTIES

  • Monitor health services for the program and support the delivery of high-quality services to families and children in Head Start/ Early Head Start.
  • Collaborates with all pertinent staff members to ensure effective health services are integrated into a comprehensive program.
  • Evaluate and implement health care plans, medication requests and special meal requests for children with identified health needs and ensure that all critical care needs have been accommodated for.
  • Support all Health & Mental Health Advisory Committee Meetings. Also, is active with community advisory boards to support the community.
  • Oversee completion of all 45 and 90-day screening and physical exam requirements based off the state's Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic, and Treatment schedule
  • Maintain required certifications, and continue ongoing professional development through training, meetings, and education courses.
  • Maintain health equipment inventory and oversee proper use and maintenance of equipment and health supplies.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing all health training including New Employee Orientation for staff in compliance with the Head Start Performance Standards, SL County Health Department and Child Care Licensing Policies.
  • Become familiar and utilize the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) schedule of the Medicaid agency of the State, and the latest immunization recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, The Salt Lake County Health Department, as well as any additional recommendations from the Health Services Advisory Committee.
