Junior Achievement In-Class Program Manager Positions, hiring for Southern Salt Lake/Utah County and Davis County positions
Position Concept: Program Managers play a key role in coordinating and delivering JA programs in local schools. This position involves recruiting and training volunteers, collaborating with educators, and ensuring high-quality program execution. Work is completed in the field, spending time in local schools and businesses, as well as in your home office. Program staff also meets biweekly at our main office downtown.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with school administration and faculty to promote the benefits and impact of the JA curriculum.
- Recruit, train, and support parent, community, and business volunteers to lead JA curriculum in classrooms and mentor students.
- Coordinate the placement and scheduling of volunteers while assuring program quality through school visits, phone and email follow‐up, administrator meetings, and end-of-year evaluations.
- Input program data on the JA CRM to track participation and retention by schools and volunteers.
- Ensure sponsored programs meet Community Reinvestment Act requirements by providing volunteer opportunities and partnering with low to moderate income schools.
- Collaborate with the JA team to meet individual, team, and organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Strong verbal communication skills, with confidence in presenting to groups.
- Excellent written communication skills are essential, as emailing will be a key part of the role. Candidates must be able to write clear, professional emails to educators, volunteers, and business partners.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with strong organizational and time-management skills to strategically plan the school year and ensure smooth program execution.
- Demonstrate a willingness to engage with the community to develop and maintain relationships with local groups and business members.
- Comfortable working both in teams and self-guided; this position will be working collaboratively as well as independently.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite (Outlook, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Must be able to provide reliable transportation, as local travel is required.
Work Schedule and Physical Requirements
- Applicants work an average of 20-25 hours per week; schedule will vary depending on job needs throughout the school year.
- Position follows the academic calendar, running from August to June, with approximately eight weeks off during the summer.
- Ability to be on your feet and actively engaged for extended periods (4+ hours).
- Occasional lifting of materials or equipment weighing up to 20lbs.
