Summary:
As our diligent and detail-oriented Kitchen Support role, you will support the cleanliness and safety of nutrition services provided to children in the programs of our non-profit organization, Ogden Weber Community Action Partnership (OWCAP). Your preference for steady, well-defined, and precise work will be heavily relied on in this role as you ensure proper preparation, sanitation, and service of meals. Your cautious, “by the book”, decision making skills will serve as a great asset in this Kitchen Support role as you ensure the kitchen’s compliance with all sanitation, food preparation, and storage standards and guidelines.
What you’ll need to be our Kitchen Support:
- A patient, conscientious, relaxed and cooperative team worker
- Unselfish and approachable with a preference for detailed, skill-based work
- Accommodating and analytical, while producing highly precise and accurate work
- High School, GED or equivalency preferred.
- Current food handlers’ permit or must be able to obtain.
- Valid Utah Driver’s License or able to obtain one.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Working with slippery/uneven walking surfaces, excessive heat, excessive cold, gases, dust, grease and oils, and hands in water.

Starting Wage - $15.50 – based on experience
What you’ll do as our Kitchen Support Staff:
- Set up dish area, sweep and mop floors, wash dishes, glassware, and pans, empty trash and clean receptacles, keep area clean, maintain proper sanitation at all times, set up and break down all equipment used.
- Assist kitchen staff members with unloading weekly food truck deliveries and the daily preparation of food.
- Make food deliveries off site. Maintain proper temperatures and time frames when delivering off site.
- Attend assigned meetings and trainings.
- Support the achievement of in-kind goals as established in the Head Start Standards and the OWCAP development system procedures.
- Other duties as assigned as they relate to the kitchen function.
