Living Traditions Festival: Community Partner & Sponsor Lead

SUPERVISOR:                 Performing Arts Program Manager

EMPLOYMENT LENGTH:     March 16 - May 29, 2026

PART TIME/FULL TIME:       Part-time Seasonal

COMPENSATION:           $25 per hour


NOTE: Projected hours for the duration of employment are approximately 120 hours. The position is required to be in-person and work for all operational hours of the festival, happening May 15-17, 2026.  

 

DESCRIPTION: This job is a lead position assisting in coordination of festival Community Partner & Sponsorship booths for the Living Traditions Festival, a free and public festival which has served upwards of 30,000 members of the public each year for 39 years. The Community Partner & Sponsor Lead directly supports the Performing Arts Program Manager, operating as a team leader and festival planner, among other duties as assigned.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Event Planning & Execution 

  • Meet with Performing Arts Program Manager and other key festival staff to carefully develop and discuss festival timelines, budgets, and onsite activation needs;

  • Reach out to all sponsors to confirm onsite activations, ensure logo inclusion in all proper places, ensure all sponsor benefits are fulfilled, and coordinate any special agreements made with festival partners;

  • Review all Community Partner applications and work with Performing Arts Program Manager to accept and decline applicants, ensuring that mission, vision, and values of the Salt Lake City Arts Council and the Living Traditions Festival are upheld.;

  • Oversee and execute all processes related to collecting Individual Donations, including ensuring donation request is included on signage and all proper marketing materials, volunteer training information for collecting donations, and ensuring that all donation information is correct;

  • Directly oversee all onsite coordination & communication with the community partners and sponsors with booths including: sponsor badge pickup onsite, overseeing the setup of all Community Partner and Sponsor booths ensuring that they are in the proper places, and overseeing community partner & sponsor booth load-out, ensuring that all vendors take all materials with them upon exit, and make note of any damages that may have occurred;

  • Strike and restoration of festival grounds in cooperation with production staff and other festival vendors, ensuring quality and precision while remaining safe and efficient.


Other Duties as Assigned:

  • This may include a variety of tasks and responsibilities such as assisting other key festival staff and vendors, supporting the execution of logistical plans, and other duties related to the production of the Living Traditions Festival.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


Experience:

  • Must have experience in working for large scale festivals or events;

  • Previous experience working with sponsors is preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the local arts community is a plus; 

  • Proficient in all Microsoft products (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint);

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written & verbal) required;

  • Professional & positive attitude (tact, sensitivity, positivity, and diplomacy);

  • Detail oriented, able to audit work to avoid mistakes, and perform tasks accurately;

  • Ability to think and act quickly under pressure;

  • Knowledge in project management and teamwork;

  • Able to lift upwards of 50 pounds and sit or stand for prolonged periods of time;

    • During the festival, this position requires long hours during the summer with demanding physical labor requirements.
