Marketing & Content Coordinator
Position Summary:
The Great Salt Lake Alliance (GSLA) is looking for a Marketing & Content Coordinator to support our communications through content creation, social media, photography, videography, basic graphic design, and website updates.
Working under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Director, you'll help tell the stories of the Great Salt Lake Alliance and Love the Lake by creating engaging content, capturing stories from partners and initiatives, maintaining digital communication channels, and supporting marketing and outreach campaigns.
What You’ll Do:
Content Creation (approximately 50%)
Capture photography and video at events, partner visits, and community activities.
Create engaging social media content, short-form videos, blogs, and written stories for GSLA and Love the Lake.
Design basic graphics and marketing materials using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite. Maintain an organized library of photos, videos, and other digital assets.
Digital Communications (approximately 25%)
Schedule and publish content across social media platforms.
Publish and maintain website content, including blogs, news, event pages, and other updates.
Assist with email newsletters and other digital communications.
Monitor basic engagement metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
Storytelling & Outreach (approximately 15%)
Interview partners, volunteers, researchers, and community members to capture stories that highlight collaboration and impact.
Help translate technical information into engaging content for public audiences.
Attend priority meetings, field visits, and community events to capture content, as determined with the Marketing & Communications Director.
Communications Support (approximately 10%)
Assist with communications campaigns, presentations, fundraising materials, and event promotion.
Help maintain editorial calendars and communication resources. Support additional communications projects as assigned.
As a part-time member of a small team, work will be prioritized in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Director to ensure time is focused on the organization's highest priorities.
What You Bring:
1–3 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, digital media, or social media (internships and relevant experience welcome).
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Experience creating and managing content across social media platforms.
Experience with photography, videography, and editing short-form video.
Basic graphic design skills and experience using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite to create on-brand marketing materials.
Experience updating WordPress websites, including publishing pages, blog posts, and other digital content.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work independently while collaborating as part of a small team.
Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with partners and community members.
Valid Utah driver's license and reliable transportation.

Creating high-quality content that reflects the Great Salt Lake Alliance and Love the Lake brands.
Keeping social media, website, and other communication channels current and engaging.
Helping tell the stories of GSLA partners, initiatives, events, and community impact.
Supporting marketing campaigns, outreach efforts, and events through timely, creative communications. Working collaboratively with the Marketing & Communications Director to execute communications priorities.
Details:
Hours: 20–25 hours/week
Schedule: Part-time, with occasional evenings/weekends for events.
Location: Hybrid, a mix of remote and in-office work in Salt Lake City
Pay: $25/hour
