The Marketing Manager plays a key role in shaping and executing the Utah Shakespeare Festival’s marketing efforts, ensuring a seamless blend of strategy, creativity, and data-driven decision-making to promote Festival's productions and special events. This individual will work closely with the Director of Communications to expand our patron base, enhance brand visibility, and meet/exceed ticket sales goals through innovative marketing campaigns.


Essential Functions


  • Team Collaboration & Leadership
    • As a key member of the Communications team, support department and Festival goals and adapt to changing priorities. Work seamlessly with other Festival departments. Approach challenges with diplomacy, flexibility, and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Marketing Campaign Development & Execution
    • Lead the creation of data-informed marketing campaigns. Ensure creative messaging supports the annual marketing plan as well as the Festival’s Mission, Vision, and Values. Implement campaigns across multiple channels and track performance to refine future efforts.
  • Group Sales & Strategic Partnerships
    • Develop and execute group sales strategies, fostering relationships with group contacts. Create tailored group experiences and coordinate logistics with Guest Services, Education, and hospitality partners.
  • Social Media Strategy & Execution
    • Create and curate engaging content, including copy, graphics, and video, that resonates with audiences across platforms. Foster community engagement by maintaining the Festival’s playfully professional voice and interacting with followers.
  • Email Marketing
    • Develop and execute targeted email marketing campaigns that support the annual marketing plan. Create visually compelling content in collaboration with the Creative Director and Publications Manager.
  • Advertising & Media Partnerships
    • The Festival contracts third-party advertising partners. Manage multiple advertising campaigns, maintaining clear communication with partners. Ensure fulfillment of all contractual obligations, including ad creation, performance tracking, and invoicing.
  • Ticket Sales & Revenue Strategy
    • Use patron buying behavior analytics to set sales goals. Monitor trends and adjust strategies to optimize ticket sales throughout the season.
  • Customer Relationship Management & Data Analysis
    • Utilize customer relationship management tools (Audience View) to extract audience insights, analyze ticket sales trends, and segment patron data. Collaborate with the Communications Director to use findings to refine marketing strategies.
  • Advertising Sales & Partnerships
    • The Communications Department is responsible for generating revenue through selling advertising. Assist the Communications Director with fulfilling advertising contracts.
  • Website & Digital Content Management
    • Support the Publications Manager in the maintenance of bard.org. Collaborate on compelling web graphics.
