Medical Assistant

Summary


The Children’s Center Utah is seeking a part time Medical Assistant to directly support the psychiatrist by performing key administrative, case management and client interfacing tasks supporting psychiatry appointments and med management. Additionally, this position may perform other administrative support tasks for the clinical team as assigned.
Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the psychiatrist by taking vitals of clients at check-in, completing medical record authorizations, scheduling clients for psychiatry appointments, and coordinating case management with the clinical team, therapeutic preschool specialists and community agencies
  • Manage calls from caregivers and pharmacies, ensuring proper documentation
  • Other administrative clinical support as assigned such as supporting scheduling and facilitation for psychological testing or outpatient caregiver groups.

The Successful Candidate
  • You are a professional. You have 1-2 years of experience working in a similar position providing administrative support to leaders and team members. You conduct yourself with integrity.
  • You are a skilled communicator. You have excellent written and oral communication skills. You have experience communicating internally and externally in an organization.
  • You work well independently. You have excellent time management abilities, can multi-task effectively and manage competing deadlines. You are detail oriented. You think ahead and can anticipate needs.
Requirements
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role providing administrative support. Work experience in a mental health setting helpful
  • Education or experience in the fields of early childhood, psychology, social work, counseling or related field preferred. SSW or SSW eligible preferred
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal skills in interacting with clients, visitors and staff
 
Schedule
Approximately 20-25 hours per week
Compensation
$18-20/ hour
