Medication Assistance Coordinator - Fulltime

Admin/Operations

Overall Responsibility: Responsible for ordering and distribution of medication through Medication

Assistance programs and other community partners.

Accountability: Accountable to and receives direction from the Executive Director and the Medical

Director.

Responsibilities

  • Assists patients in applying for and receiving medications through pharmaceutical companies.
  • Orders medication from pharmaceutical companies at the discretion of the physician and with a physician’s order.
  • Processes medication for distribution to the patients of the Clinic.
  • Maintains records of medications received by the clinic and distributed to the patient.
  • Notifies medical provider of medications that are not available to the patient to ensure a substitution is offered.
  • Manages medication sample closet and distributes samples as requested by the Clinic medical providers.
  • Directly supervises Medication Assistance Volunteers.

Skills and Knowledge Required

1. Bilingual – English/Spanish  

2. Ability to mentor students, and other volunteers and provide teaching support.

3. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring that other specialties and services are included in the healthcare plan

4. Ability to exercise sound leadership and judgment.

6. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.

7. Effective interpersonal skills.

8. Ability to multi-task and to prioritize tasks.

Education and experience

High School Diploma required, some college preferred

Medical clinic experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
