Membership Coordinator (Sugar House)
This is not your typical office job! The Boys & Girls Club is looking for a dedicated, professional, and organized individual to keep things running smoothly as our Membership Coordinator. If you're passionate, professional, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you. This position is responsible for entering membership and activity information into a database, answering phones, communicating with parents and youth, taking payments, and interacting with/mentoring youth. They are also responsible for overseeing the lobby and monitoring the main entrance into the facility.

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate membership records and database entries, process applications and renewals
- Handle sensitive information securely
- Field inquiries from families and provide exceptional customer service
- Help coordinate member events and meetings
- Maintain office supplies and inventory
- Assist with financial tasks such as invoicing and payment processing
- Perform general clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and data entry
- Engage with our young members, offering mentorship and support as they navigate their Club experience
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Needed Knowledge:
- Some front desk, office, or customer service experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Docs, with the ability to learn new software tools as needed
- Excellent organizational skills, with both electronic data and physical files
- Ability to handle personal information with sensitivity and confidentiality
- Ability to communicate effectively over the phone, in person, and over email
- Flexibility and adaptability to thrive in a lively, energetic environment
- Willingness to learn and implement Trauma-Informed Practices to help create an environment of safety, awareness, trust, and empathy with youth and fellow staff members
- Willingness to develop and exemplify social-emotional competencies: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making
Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check, MVR check, and drug screening
- 18 years and over
Job Preferences:
- 21 years and over (to meet driving requirements), be willing and able to drive 15 passenger vans
- Bilingual Spanish/English speaking preferred
- 2 years of office and/or customer service experience
- 1 year of experience working with youth

When school is out, Clubs are in! Since 1967, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake has offered positive alternatives to our youth who face emotional isolation, ongoing social pressures, and widening inequity gaps. They need our support. However, it takes a village to raise a child.
Boys & Girls Club aims to be “the village,” we use our resources and skills to provide life-changing experiences for every child. By bringing youth to Club, they will be provided with academic remediation, social-emotional learning lessons, healthy meals, and more. We can lift entire communities by providing youth a safe place to advance themselves while their caregivers pursue their careers during after school hours. This increases families' financial flexibility and gears their children for increased success as they transition to adulthood. Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake serves kids at 5 locations in Salt Lake and Tooele. Last year, nearly 4,000 youth attended our Clubs with over 1,000 members coming to the Clubs each day. Our mission is to inspire and empower youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring adults.
