Red Butte Garden is seeking a reliable and organized Office Assistant to support day-to-day administrative operations for the Private Events Team. This part-time role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Red Butte Garden is accessible through multiple public transit options. Several bus routes serve Research Park and the University Medical Center, and the Trax Red Line provides nearby access, followed by a short walk or an on-demand University campus shuttle. The campus shuttle’s Sunnyside Route offers direct service to Red Butte Garden. 


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and respond to inquiry emails in a timely and professional manner
  • Schedule photoshoot sessions and coordinate drivers for complimentary shoots
  • Create client appointments and follow up on scheduling holds
  • Assist with post-event administrative tasks as needed
  • Occasionally provide coverage for part-time event shifts when required 

Work Environment:

  • Primarily based in a shared office setting with occasional noise and interruptions
  • Duties include sitting at a desk, answering phones, and working on a computer
  • Occasional bending, lifting, walking, and outdoor work in various weather conditions
  • Event venues and surrounding areas may be loud and involve large crowds 

Preferences

Clear, professional, and effective verbal and written communication for emails, phone calls, and scheduling. 


Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels:

Office Assistant, I: Requires little to no related experience.

Office Assistant, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
