Pantry to Porch Program Director
Position title: Program Director
Reports to: Executive Director
Program location: Salt Lake County & Utah County, Utah
Employment location: Remote, in Utah, with potential occasional in-person events
Hours per week: 20
Salary: $25,000 annually
Anticipated start: July 2026
Position Summary
Pantry to Porch seeks a Utah-based Program Director to oversee the operations of our free food pantry home delivery service program. The Program Director is responsible for overseeing the logistics, communication, and coordination of food deliveries from community partners and volunteers to clients. This role ensures a seamless connection between volunteers, clients, and partners, while maintaining efficiency and clear communication. The Program Director also contributes to volunteer recruitment and retention efforts, in collaboration with the Executive Director. The Program Director works with the Executive Director to develop and grow the program, including making improvements to the service, expanding our community partner list, and improving volunteer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Coordination and Tracking
Organize and manage food deliveries with partners, clients, and volunteers
Communicate all pertinent delivery details to involved parties
Map out delivery routes to optimize efficiency for volunteers
Assign delivery tasks and ensure clear communication of assignments
Submit monthly program data, including relevant delivery and volunteer data
Client Management
Oversee and maintain client registration process to ensure simplicity and accessibility
Communicate with clients regarding deliveries and program eligibility and address questions from existing/potential clients
Resolve client issues related to delivery operations, including concerns about deliveries and updating relevant client information
Volunteer Recruitment and Management
Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers, including volunteer recognition
Search for volunteer recruitment opportunities in the community (events, websites, higher education institutions, etc.)
Communicate delivery procedures to volunteers in a clear and timely fashion
Resolve any volunteer concerns related to delivery
Partner Relations
Maintain regular communication with partners to streamline delivery logistics
Seek out new partnership opportunities with community organizations
Qualifications
Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and time management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective communication with people from diverse backgrounds
Experience managing volunteers and/or logistics
Proficiency with digital platforms, including email, word processing, web searching, mobile applications, and others
Ability to work independently and think critically about logistics and operations
Ability to resolve conflicts and handle sensitive client or volunteer concerns with compassion and professionalism
Collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively
Understanding of and commitment to building diverse, equitable, inclusive, accessible, and just systems of mutual aid and community support in Utah
Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, food systems, food justice, and community resources and programs
Spanish language skills (preferred)
