Part Time Cook

We are hiring a Part-Time Food Services Cook located in Salt Lake City, Utah!
The Cook is responsible for the daily preparation of all food items in the kitchen. The Cook position is responsible for proper sanitation and food handling procedures that meet all Health Department guidelines. This position is responsible for daily prep, cleaning and executing menus. The cook position is responsible for opening and closing duties as well as washing dishes when needed.

Schedule: Thursday: 9 AM - 6 PM | Saturday: 9 AM - 6 PM | Sunday: 8 AM - 2 PM
- No late nights!
- $20.40 per hour
- 1 year of cooking experience preferred but not required
- Food Handlers required
Our full-time benefits include:

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least one-year experience in related industry is preferred.
Duties to include but not limited to:
- Sets up kitchen according to FSH guidelines and meal periods.
- Executes weekly menus utilizing in-kind donations efficiently in coordination with food services manager.
- Follows manual recipes to insure preparation consistency and portion control.
- Ensures proper receipt and storage of both donated and purchased food.
- Monitors rotation of food in walk-in, freezers, and dry storage.
- Attends monthly Food Services meeting.
- Maintains all Food Services tools and equipment.
- Opens and closes kitchen according to FSH guidelines.
- Prepares meals for the following day.
- Meets special requests of FSH clients and staff.
- Maintains a professional working relationship with all clients and community service workers.
- Receive, weigh, record, rotate, organize and properly store all incoming food donations.
- Coordinate with supervisor on weekly menus for proper thawing of all frozen food items.
- Maintains organization and cleanliness of all food storage areas.
- Restocks and rotates food and kitchen supplies as directed by supervisor.
