POSITION SUMMARY
To support our region’s equity-focused, cradle-to-career collective impact effort, the Partnership Director will develop a sustainable volunteer program for Promise Partnership Utah focused on recruiting and maintaining relationships with volunteers to support academic outcomes in schools and districts connected to Promise Partnership Utah. This position will report to the Community Schools Director and support the stewardship of the Utah Coalition for Community Schools through content development for the Community Schools newsletter and regular updates for the Utah Coalition for Community Schools webpage.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Recruit volunteers whose primary task will be to provide academic enrichment at partner schools – volunteers will be expected to commit to an ongoing volunteer program for an academic quarter, semester or year, no one-time opportunities.
  • Design and implement regular volunteer orientation, training, and onboarding at volunteer sites.
  • Provide guidance to volunteers in navigating the background check process and other requirements to be a long-term volunteer in a k-12 public school.
  • Form partnerships with relevant communities and organizations who can help source volunteers.
  • Support Promise Partnership team members to conduct regular volunteer communication and appreciation efforts and celebrate volunteers to build community and connection.
  • Maintain a database of volunteers, collect data on volunteer participation, and generate reports on volunteer hours served to demonstrate the impact of volunteer efforts.
  • Development of onboarding protocols for new Promise Community Schools.
  • Deliver Technical Assistance to new Promise Community Schools.
  • Provide administrative support to the Utah Community Schools Director and the Utah Coalition for Community Schools.
  • Maintenance of the Utah Coalition for Community Schools webpage and write content for quarterly Community Schools Coalition newsletter.
  • Support Utah Coalition for Community Schools through Results Based Facilitation and Results Based Accountability.
  • Engage in professional learning regarding volunteer engagement and Community Schools.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Strong and adaptable communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Organization and project management skills
  • Takes initiative to communicate and problem solve
  • Experience facilitating meetings or events with key internal and external partners
  • Speak and write fluently in a second language (Spanish or Arabic preferred)
  • Clearly and consistently demonstrates an understanding of racial equity and structural racism
  • Able to connect with individuals and maintain complex relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5+ years of applicable experience in volunteer coordination, project management, facilitation, or equivalent academic experience.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience working with volunteers, partnership groups, community groups or schools.
  • An understanding of the culture and realities of historically marginalized communities in the Salt Lake region is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite, data visualization, and other project management software.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

The team member is regularly required to communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone and via other devices. The team member must be able to transcribe, take in new information, prepare and analyze data and figures, constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The team member is required to regularly travel to offsite locations to set-up presentations and displays in physical and electronic mediums. The team member must have the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.

The employee is required to work primarily in-person, in our UP offices during core business hours Monday – Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Fridays. Utah’s Promise has a 36-hour work week with Friday afternoons off.


COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 

The position is a full-time, exempt position with full benefits. $59,555 to $72,790 Salary commensurate with experience. UWSL/UP provides a wide range of benefits, including:
