Production Manager
Reports to: Executive Director
Craft Lake City is seeking an experienced Event Production Manager to lead the logistical and operational aspects of Craft Lake City’s year-round events, with a primary focus on our three major events: DIY Festival, Holiday Market, and LetterWest. The Production Manager oversees event production from planning through teardown and serves as the primary point of contact for production-related decisions. This role leads production staff and volunteers, manages vendors and contractors, coordinates site logistics, and ensures events are organized, safe, and successful. This is a year-round position requiring strong organizational skills, leadership, communication, and the ability to manage multiple event cycles throughout the year. The Production Manager will work closely with Craft Lake City staff, vendors, artists, makers, volunteers, and community partners to bring each event to life.
Responsibilities
Lead production planning and execution for DIY Festival, Holiday Market, LetterWest, and other Craft Lake City events
Develop and manage production timelines, schedules, budgets, maps, and logistical plans Hire, train, schedule, and supervise production staff and volunteers
Coordinate site logistics, rentals, signage, equipment, and infrastructure
Manage vendor, contractor, and venue relationships
Coordinate permits and event requirements
Develop contingency plans and respond to real-time production needs
Lead on-site production and daily staff/crew communication
Conduct pre- and post-event site walkthroughs and inventory
Manage production budgets and track expenses
Lead post-event wrap-up, debriefs, and recommendations for future events
Manage inventory and office organization
Manage and lead the installation and removal of BannerWorks
Qualifications
3–5 years of event production or event management experience
Experience managing production teams and volunteers
Experience with festivals, markets, community events, or similar programming
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
Experience managing vendors, contractors, and event logistics
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
Ability to work outdoors and in a variety of weather conditions
Ability to maintain composure in dynamic situations
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active for extended periods during events
Commitment to collaboration, accountability, and positive team culture
Enthusiasm for community-based creative events and the local arts ecosystem
Requirements
Must be available for planning meetings and production work leading up to each major event
Must be available on-site for event dates and related preparation
Must be available for post-event teardown, inventory, and debrief activities
Must be able to manage the overlapping production timelines of Craft Lake City’s major annual events
