Program Coordinator

Outreach and Community Engagement Program/Project Management

Position Summary:

The Program Coordinator plays a key role in delivering UCAIR’s community-based outreach and educational initiatives. Working closely with the Program Manager and external partners, this position helps advance UCAIR’s mission and programs at the grassroots level.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and execute UCAIR’s community-facing program initiatives, including K-12 school outreach, community workshops and meetings, and grassroots engagement.

  • Design and deliver engaging presentations and educational materials for audiences of all ages and backgrounds in school, business, and community settings.

  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to develop and refine educational content and outreach strategies based on feedback and evaluation data.

  • Develop relationships with new and existing partners, including educators, community leaders, business representatives, and local officials, to broaden program reach and impact.

  • Support program and event logistics, including communication with partners and external vendors, volunteer coordination, and material preparation. 

  • Accurately track, record, and organize program data and participant information for evaluation and reporting purposes.

  • Represent UCAIR at meetings, tabling events, workshops, and other public forums to share information about air quality and engage with community members.

  • Travel to outreach events and community meetings (mileage reimbursement provided).

  • Assist with the development and distribution of outreach content, including printed materials, digital content, and social media posts.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support UCAIR’s programs and goals. Examples include but are not limited to: assisting with grant applications and reports, supporting fundraising or media events.


Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of general professional or relevant experience.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with sharp attention to detail. 

  • Excellent communication skills; must be comfortable presenting to and engaging with diverse stakeholders and community members.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Valid Utah driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel and transport of materials.

  • High digital literacy; proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office preferred. Familiarity with CRM systems and Canva is a plus.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Time Commitment:

  • 20-25 hours per week

  • Part-time, permanent position

  • Occasional evening and weekend availability required for events and meetings

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)

  • Pay Rate: $20.00/hour

  • Benefits:

    • Hybrid work environment (remote and in-office in Salt Lake City)

    • Monthly cell phone reimbursement after a 90-day probationary period
